At the closing concert of the Encounters, we will have the opportunity to hear the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra, conducted by Pedro Neves, playing the orchestral summer of Francisco de Lacerda's Trovas (with soprano Eduarda Melo), as well as a rarely heard Pavane for string orchestra by the Azorean composer. This concert will also feature a very special premiere: the work which won the inaugural edition of the Francisco de Lacerda Composition Prize - the biggest prize for young composers in Portugal, created with the aim of stimulating young national creation. The concert will close with the beautiful suite Ma Mere L'Oye, by Maurice Ravel.
